What is a T-money card?

A T-money card is a rechargeable transit card used across Seoul's subway, buses, and most taxis. You tap it when you board and tap again when you get off the bus. It's the easiest, cheapest way to get around.

Where to buy one

You can buy a T-money card at any convenience store (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven) and at subway station machines. The card costs about 2,500-4,000 won, and you load credit on top.

How to charge (top up) your card

Add cash at any convenience store counter or at the charging machines inside subway stations. Most machines have an English menu. Charge 10,000-20,000 won to start.

Getting your deposit back

Before you leave Korea, you can refund the remaining balance at any convenience store (up to 20,000 won, minus a small fee). The card deposit is non-refundable, but you can keep the card for your next trip.
